Automatic update makes unusable!!!!!!!!!!

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: GianMarco Tavazzani Friday, July 25 2008 @ 02:45 AM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

'This software can't run on your hardware' (or something like that, by the way the HW is a MacBook Pro 4,1).
Good start for a 3.0 ... still 'beta', still beta 3 by time but.. with bug fixes???
Disappointing!
And all this just because some people still don't have Skype (that should also upgrade quicker!)!!!

a) Skype sucks. It's had fewer features added to it in the last 2 years than even YM. It ain't anywhere near a standard.

b) Did you even try the manual download? Product implementation and replication to distribution nodes can take some time, and usually settles down within 12-24 hours - I know, I'm involved in software deployment. So for your need to be on the bleeding edge, you take into your own hands the fact that some of the repositories might not yet be up to date. But you didn't even try the primary download option, did you. No, you didn't. And that says everything about what your opinion is worth.

Automatic update makes unusable!!!!!!!!!! - GGGlen

Automatic updates performed on 4 computers, and every one of them worked.

1 Powerbook
1 Macbook Pro
1 MacBook
1 iMac

No problems whatsoever.
