'Couldn't find spell checker' and loop...
This happens when you open an existing .doc file and you have to force quit!
Unpredictably it seems to work.. aftrer another try done this way: you first ask the spell checker on a new document, THEN you open an existing one.
Well, not before to have had to wait and close many times the 'Spell checker not found' alert
NOW ou can appreciate that the borders are playing crazy and the text can't stay where awaited
Let us wait another patch!
By the way: spell catcher is in 'tools' and is almost unusable and for sure now 'mac-like'

No, uncle: I use for spelling only the Apple built in dictionary.. Perhaps the AppleWorks one could interfere?Sunday, August 17 2008 @ 03:29 PM PDT

It sounds like you are running into an incompatibility with third-party spelling add-ons; the problem and solution are described here.
