All I wanted to do was to take my AVI movie files and my SRT subtitle files, and burn them into a DVD format that my DVD player (Sony home theater) can play. Simple.

I tried iDVD, then ffmpeg itself, then spent money on Roxio Toast (which is more eye candy than anything else), and so on. If they "worked" in the first place, they ended up recording the movie in a format that was unwatchable on the DVD player. Either a stupid aspect ration, despite specifying a widescreen format before the burn process, or some just wouldn't play.

Then I tried a combination of Submerge and Visual Hub. End of woes.

This is a small, but extremely useful application. It works. It just works. Which is how applications should be.
