Tried it on several macs

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I have several macs that I have tried it on, the only one that will not accept it is my 800MHz 17" imac. I even tried to do the open firmware to no avail. I hope someone finds a way of doing it. I maxed-out my RAM on all machines first, so that took some time. The lowest is a 533MHz. I do suggest having a little more than half of your hard drive available before trying it. I learned the hard way on the 533MHz. I had a 40Gb then went to an 80GB.

Tried it on several macs - Gordon Alley

It worked on my 15” 800Mhz iMac earlier this year. I haven't tried the 2.0 version, since that iMac is basically “retired” now.

Try installing it in firewire mode from another mac, it worked fine for us here.

I'd second the firewire mode suggestion. That has worked for me on all my unsupported G4's.

Update: I had a lot of trouble trying to load it on my 800 MHz 17" imac, 1GB RAM 80 GB HDD. which seems to be the last nut to crack. A college of mine tried it, he did video updates, which I thought were all done, and bingo...... it works. We were able to do an upgrade instead of erase and install. Before it kept going to open firmware, now it just works.

Video updates? Software or hardware? I have 32MB of VRAM in the GeForce4 MX. Did your friend add VRAM or get updated device driver software?

Please inform. I want working Leopard on my 17" iMac too!
