It seems that after each release of Zipeg for the last couple of years WinZip is trying to release the same feature. Zipeg with Image Preview -> WinZip with Image Preview, Zipeg with international filenames -> WinZip with unicode filenames, Zipeg supports Rar with encrypted filenames -> WinZip tries (and fails) to do the same...
The only problem is that WinZip is missing the point. 1. Zipeg uses EXIF (fast to read) to extract thumbnails. 2. Zipeg automagically determines the code page for the legacy .zip archives in addition to supporting Unicode filenames. 3. Zipeg is free software and does not try to lock you into any kind of un-archiving solution or nag you for money. 4. Zipeg works on both Mac OS X and Windows.
I do respect and admire earlier WinZip. But when WinZip was sold to a corporation the whole spirit of development changed. Look less professional and much more MBA driven now... :-(
