Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Thucydides :"launch the 12.1.1 installer, and then refuse to install the 12.1.1 update on your volume, saying that it does not contain a version of Office that can be upgraded. So far, the only workaround I've found on the web involves re-installing MS Office from scratch" See > http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=505414&page=3 Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/Microsoft Office Setup Assistant/Contents/Plugins/SLT.bundle is the apparent culprit. By ignoring the fact that many users remove language-localizations from their Macs (for years now) and requiring that this (very tiny) SLT.bundle remain fully-localized, this update has cause undue frustration. Repairing permissions, safe-booting, etc.? Smoke-screening. I can't recall any other application updates choking on de-localization.

Mega frustation traced to a tiny file-bundle. - msephton

Adobe CS3 installs fails for the same reason. There's an easier way to instal 12.1.1 here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=5658250&postcount=71
