I'm peeved they still haven't fixed the Safari download bug, where any .doc file is turned into a .doc.dot (template) file when it is downloaded from Safari. This is all sorts of annoying because my school sends everything as a Word file. The bug also occurs for .ppt and .xls files. It doesn't happen for .docx files.
One would think MS would be able to fix such a well documented bug in the 3+ updates since the bug was introduced!

Safari download/template bug not fixed - joelmcintosh
Hi Andres,Is this a known bug? I have no trouble downloading office documents from either web sites or as email attachments. Also, I'm not sure that a situation where Safari appends an incorrect file extension is a problem with Office 2008 (i.e., maybe there is something amiss with your client). I apologize if this is a known issue and not related to something on your system, but I just can't reproduce the trouble you are having.
