I've only tried the demo of PhotoRescue but it seems to work exactly as advertised so the glowing reviews don't surprise me. Only glitch has been in the online purchase, a little flakey: the security padlock didn't look quite right and in email exchange there's some hangup.

Probably will amount to nothing - usually this goes like stink with no delays. But frustrating of course. (Rapping impatiently on desk) I WANT MY PICTURES BACK!!!!!!
