They can go visit a tree for all I care. As for this version of QT. It runs great! No problems at all with QTPro. With respect to Synergy it still doesn't appear here. It IS an important update. When will it appear tommorow? Thenext day? Maybe not at all? I always check MacUpdate and find the missing apps that VT forgets about. It is a real miserable way to service the Mac developers whom Cnet really doesn't give a darn about.

Mac Users have a RIGHT to criticise! - Razzledazzle

If you consider a VALID critique of a web site or an irritating procedure then you are a person that is attempting to usurp and disenfranchise us of our rights . I plan to exercise my rights despite your invalid comment.

hmmm.... are you SURE it's valid? - Rufus J

Just a little question: How is the database maintained? Does VT have employees sitting around monitoring the version status of a zillion applications on a whole bunch of different platforms and then writing update info, etc., etc., or do the developers log in to their accounts and submit this information to the db??? If you think it's so critical that VT have updates listed in a more timely manner perhaps you should complain to the developers about how they handle this rather than excoriating VT who just may be stuck in the middle with not much to do about it.

Yes I do have a VALID argument - Razzledazzle

Well I don't work for VT so I can't tell you how they maintain their data bases . I do know that in the not too distant past before Cnet took over VT they started to deteriorate in their reporting of updates. This deterioration became more accelerated when Cnet took over. Cnet seems focused on Windows and it seems gives Mac updates a "kiss and a Prayer" NOW Macupdate on the other hand is dedicated to the Mac platform and consequently maintains the updates in a timely fashion. How exactly they do that I can not tell you. Obviously by their example it CAN be done. VT makes money out of its sites and certainly Cnet does as well. I feel sorry for the Macusers who have paid VT for VTPro as they are not getting what they paid for. An example of that was the remarks on a Forum that VT conducted when they announced the fact that VT was aquired by Cnet. The VT users absolutely EXCORIATED VT for the poor service that they have endured. I hope this answers the points you brought up

"Yes I do have a VALID argument" - BS - Rufus J

No, you didn't address the point. You alluded to it and then proceeded to refuse to respond to it. The problem is that it is up to the developers to provide the information. If they are failing to treat this with the urgency YOU demand, then take it up with them or simply stick with macupdate. I have a few applications where the updates have been consistently announced here at VT before I receive the developer's update notices in my email. Again, just the way the developer goes about organizing his own time. If the problem is so bad and so many people are as upset as you about not having updates announced at VT "first and fastest" then this site will either die or they'll have to figure out some way to encourage more cooperation from the developers.

I think you are incorrect in your theory that the Developers are responsible for the reporting to VT and MU on the updating of their apps. VT DOES have employees whose job is to scan the apps they have listed as well as others they doesn't have and keep their data bases current. BTW SYNERGY is STILL not listed here. Many Mac users have this app and this was an important update. In order to properly rebut your theory I would have to join the staff of VT and evaluate their methods of updating their data bases. However, a good example is MU and I doubt that they rely on developers to keep them up to date although some of the developers probably report their updated versions to MU.
