VT misses the boat again as usual!

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

This update showed up late again. I got it yesterday on MacUpdate. They still don't have the new version of Synergy. An important update that finally shows the artwork in Leopard in their application. It is on Macupdate as of yesterday. Things have gotten a lot worse since Cnet took over.

I sure did! It wasn't here on VT until very late. VT was down today as well. As far as Synergy is concerned I can't imagine VT missing an important update like that. I am sick of the old routine of duplicate postings and stuff like "you broke the speed limit" when you haven't even been on the internet to post at all! Macupdate had Quicktime on their web site since early this morning with Synergy as well. I did get the new version of Quicktime during the day and now I see at 1AM EDT they finally posted it.Vt is no longer a reliable place to update your apps.

QuickTime wasn't on MU this morning, afternoon, or early evening. It lists items chronologically on the list, and it's near the end of today's list.

If you live near Cupertino, your computer may be affected by Steve Job's Reality Vortex. That would explain everything.

Yes it was on the MacUpdate site during the day. It wasn't on VT until late tonight. MU always scoops VT. Don't tell me about Vortexes . It is wasn't until late tonight that VT finally listed it.More importantly Synergy's stabile version isn't listed at all. This web site is supposed to service the users and developers. Do you think they are doing a good job? I don't think so and there are numerous others who have noticed the deterioration of VT since Cnet took over. Please don't be sarcastic and tell me about SteveJob's vortex. Address yourself to the problem instead.

Does this really matter given that Software Update tends automatically alerts users? Is it necessary to be the first kid on the block to update?
I also find "you broke the speed limit" irritating when it has been literally days (sometimes months) between posts.

VT misses the boat again as usual! - Laraine Anne Barker

Can't say I like VT or CNet very much either. For a start, it irritates me when a "download now" link doesn't lead me straight to a file ending in .dmg so I can ask Safari to download it in iGetter. That's why I prefer Macupdate.

I agree Laraine but have you noticed that Synergy which has a large following of Mac users and is a Mac application is STILL not shown on VT. It seems that they are focused on Windows and Mac is not important to them. As far as "breaking the speed limit" is concerned why should you get that message when you haven't posted at all and in fact haven't been on line? There are some people here that would like to usurp our rights to criticise and disenfranchise us entirely unles we say everything here is wonderful.
