Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

Recommend Product: NO

Learn by my past mistake. I tried to update the firmware on my LaCie disk, it failed to load and in doing so, turned the drive into a door stop. LaCie didn't want to know, even though the drive was still in the guarantee period. If your drive is working, don't try to upgrade the firmware. If you do and it breaks the drive, you most probably have not lost any information. I eventually dismantled my drive when LaCie disowned it and mounted the drive in a third party casing. It worked perfectly.

My advice, buy Western Digital.

Sorry if this is too late - Justin Choi

If the Update Tool 2.0 rendered your drive usable, try this from LaCie Tech Support. I worked for my Little Disk!

You need to backdate the firmware. Please hold down the Option key when opening the software and then option click the copyright symbol in the main window. The update should turn into a backdate. then run the backdate procedure.
