If you need a free de-stuffit tool, use The Unarchiver.

Free, doesn't require admin privileges to install. It decompress everything except .sitx files, which nobody should be using anyways. Propriety compression formats are annoying.

Stuffit, you were good about 10 years ago, but now... not so much.

Stuffit, please go away - friedchikkin

Someone recommended Unarchiver awhile ago and I tried it... definitely happy with Unarchiver. The last Deluxe StuffIt I paid for was version 7... I saw no good reason to pay even $29.99 for successive upgrades. Unarchiver works with anything and doesn't mangle some compressed formats as StuffIt Expander does...
