as much as I love Leopard server, in order to take advantage of the Directory application I need everyone on Leopard, so that's a problem for us at this time. What we need is a company wide shared contacts solution for the mac. This app will work for macs running tiger or better and windows machines running XP or better, which is over 90% of my install base. We simplified the process by making only one company account and loading it on everyone's system with that account info. So that everyone can add and view contacts without implementing a server based solution on our end and no per seat costs. Bravo and thank you for providing a solution to a long standing problem. The only downsides I see are a) that someone can just as easily delete everything, so regular exports should be done as backups, b) sometimes syncing will take a few minutes before changes are seen, and if you are connecting to another user you just created, be patient they will show up but give it several minutes. c) adding contacts is not quite as slick as Directory.app but still simple. d) it's advisable to quit ripplex before logging out as sometimes it takes a while to do so and cancels logout, but all in all this is a small price to pay.
I can't call it perfect, but it does what we need well.
