Still crashing InDesign CS3 on opening files when Links panel is visible

Feedback Type:  Review

Contributed by: fvdg Wednesday, June 04 2008 @ 10:30 AM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

Even version 4.06 has this longstanding bug: Still crashing InDesign CS3 on opening a file when Links panel is visible. Close the Links panel: all is well. Make the Links panel visible: crash. Disable Default Folder for InDesign and all is well again with a visible Links panel.

Still can't reproduce it :-( - St. Clair Software

I'm afraid I still don't know what the problem is - I've used your test file and am testing the same version of InDesign, same system version, and same Mac model, and it doesn't happen. Can anyone else reproduce this problem?

Still can't reproduce it :-( - tersonodesign

I had this problem with the first release of DF4 - something about having the links panel active tended to crash ID every time DF4 showed its face. I haven't seen the issue with more recent builds, though - the current and previous builds have been totally solid with ID CS3 here (which is fortunate, given that I spend a good part of my day in it!).
