Purify OSX is a weak contender not because of its functions, but because it is a lot of work to set up and unstable in operation. Worse is the support which is too often a flat statement to the user that no one else is having the problem (this reply crops up somewhat often, all the way back to the company's older product support threads). When you press for a solution you discover that 'tech support' is one guy who does not seem to have much experience troubleshooting so he passes the buck. Also, the company charged me twice and refused to refund the second saying I must have ordered twice. The fact that I was out of the office at the second order's time stamp and the fact that the supposedly automated system sent me the same program key each time disproves this, but the company wanter another $29 more than a happy customer. When confronted with these documents the man behind the company had no answer so he just became personally abusive with the crudest of language, an experience I have never had in more than 20 years buying from soft/hardware for dozens of systems. After a lot of time spent, unfortunately the opinion here is avoid this company unless you are totally independent in troubleshooting.

Stink Bomb - RAlfieri
Frankly, I am shocked by this individual's experience. Jeff Hendrickson and I have communicated on many occasions, not only to answer questions I may have, but to brainstorm ideas for the product. I have found him to be friendly and approachable, knowledgeable and very generous with his time. He responds quickly and is very willing to help anyone having difficulty. I also find Purify to be very stable and flexible, better than most of the Mac-based spam products available for home users today. Can setting up SPAM filters be complex? You bet. SPAM is not easy to filter. Jeff's product does an amazing job of it out of the box considering how crafty spammers are getting in the way they construct messages to beat SPAM filters. Purify allows you to add your own parameters to help gain even greater accuracy.
Some of us may want a given subject filtered, while others may not. If you do not feel like you want or need to have explicit control over your SPAM, then you should use the built in junk filters in Apple Mail or Entourage, or those provided by your ISP.

Stink Bomb - Jeff Hendrickson
Purify is "try before you buy." This simpleton tried Purify, liked it, bought it, installed and used it. Then he screwed up his computer, and tried to hold me hostage for his 20 bucks to figure out what he _ucked up.Won't do it.
