I went back to TIGER after I saw what a mess 10.5 was-can anyone say whether it still takes an ice -age to repair permissions-?
In Tiger I can do it it 10+ seconds

10.5.x will likely never be as fast as 10.4.x since 1.5.x has added Access Control List checking in addition to the other file/folder permission checks.Here is more info about ACLs: http://www.bresink.com/osx/193281/Docs-en/ACL.html
