I should have stated that most of my clients use windows and they can not open any of the .doc or .docx files that NeoOffice produces. Any ideas??

Well this app seems so solid in all ways. I was hoping it was my release from M$ but my clients can not open any of the documents that neo produces. If anyone has any ideas of how they can do this that would be great info for all of us. Well I guess it is back to (UGH!) M$.

What format are you saving to in NeoOffice? Because I have tried all formats and they ether do not open or the layout completely changes in word making it unreadable. I would really like to find another program to use other than appleworks 6.2.9 which is very old.Sunday, June 01 2008 @ 03:59 PM PDT

Consider the possibility that the documents are being compromised somehow as you send them over the internet. Make sure just before you send them to others that you perform a fresh "Save As" operation over the top of the pre-existing file. Watch your file names also -- consider using an underscore symbol in place of a space.Monday, June 16 2008 @ 04:25 PM PDT

You probably know this, but you can open and save in these formats in many other applications - TextEdit is free and does 90% or more of what people use Word for, Nisus Express, which is cheap and does far more than TextEdit and, good old MarinerWrite, which has just been upgraded.Yours sincerely,

Thanks all for the comments. I found out that I was the problem when saving. I now know that when I need to "save as" a .doc file in the save window I need to select yes and not the default no. I am free from the burden of M$ office :-)Sunday, June 22 2008 @ 01:40 PM PDT

I share documents with Office users on both Mac and PC, and they have no idea that the documents have been created or modified with NeoOffice.Reply to This
