Sadly nostalgia got the better of me and I paid for the full version before trying the demo.
I get the following CoreServicesUIAgent crash every time I try to run Dark Castle 3 and afterwards DC3 just bounces endlessly and never finishes opening:
Process: CoreServicesUIAgent [1557]
Path: /System/Library/CoreServices/
CoreServicesUIAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/CoreServicesUIAgent
Identifier: com.apple.coreservices.uiagent
Version: 12.1 (12.1)
Build Info: CoreServicesUIAgent-120100~2
Code Type: X86 (Native)
Parent Process: launchd [114]

OS Version: Mac OS X 10.5.2 (9C7010)
Report Version: 6
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes:
KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000005 Crashed Thread: 0
[snip rest of crash report]
I then tried to run the demo which ran ok the first time. But the second time it gave the following error: "Unable to create a new "DC3 Prefs" file" and quit on me :-(
There is something very wrong with DC. I suggest people avoid it for now unless I can be assured I'm in the minority here.

The full version runs great on my iMac 2Ghz.The good thing is that it looks just like the old DC we used to play (in B&W).
The bad things is that it looks just like the old DC we used to play.
The graphics have been 'updated' but I was expecting more. After I got past that gripe, I started to enjoy the game. It's smoother than the demo. Haven't gotten to the new areas yet. Still re-awakening some memories with DC1 and BDC.
There is an option to use a gamepad. After installing HID Wizard, I got turned off with the crappy interface to set up my (supported) Logitech Rumblepad2. Those guys are stuck on Windows 3.1.
I also wish there were some MODERN save game and settings management. But instead we have the same interface from 1988.

I agree to all above,I do miss the Bach in DC (Toccata and Fugue in D minor)
The DC3_Prefs issue is a pain, but all you have to do is move the file to the trash - I use this to control my son's access to the game, o/w he would play it for hours every day - I am about to bite and get the full version though. has anyone gotten it to work with 10.5 ???

DC3 doesn't run for me under 10.5.5 - just get a black screen. At least I can quit with Cmd-Q, otherwise I'd have to reboot. This is a big disappointment for a $30 program.Friday, November 14 2008 @ 06:28 PM PST

Ok, versiontracker is also broken. I get an error that I was unable to copy (???) - I just got the error beep instead. Then it turns out my post was successful after all.Wow - is everything I'm touching turning to crap now?
