If you are going to use this software for accepting Credit Cards for purchases, you are locked into using only one credit card processing company, you cannot choose your own... This is particularly troublesome, as the processing partner MYOB has chosen has not fully disclosed their rates to accept credit cards for all the different types of cards (rewards cards, signature debit, business cards, etc.) on the MYOB website... To see what "cost" is on the different types of cards visit either the Visa or MasterCard websites and lookup "interchange"

A couple quick points to add on to your posting regarding credit card processing within Checkout...It's true that we chose to exclusively integrate with the MYOB Merchant Account, but customers are still free to process credit cards using their existing Merchant Account and a terminal by simply marking the invoice as paid (in Checkout). Yes, the workflow and ease-of-use is definitely enhanced when you're using the MYOB account with the software, but we have many happy customers using their own Merchant Account...
Our decision to utilize one merchant account vendor was made to simplify development and maintenance, which delivers a tangible benefit to customers in the form of more cool features over time. It's important to note that we took the selection of our credit card processing vendor very seriously - focusing our search on a processor who was able to deliver competitive rates for our customers...
You raise a good point regarding the various types of rates charged for various transactions and card types. While we only publish examples for the base rates, I think that visiting the Visa and Mastercard websites is great advice. From our experience, credit card rates are dependent on a myriad of factors (eg business type, creditworthiness, transaction type/size, card type) yielding a multitude of scenarios and making it difficult to create a table that has much use in the abstract. A more detailed understanding of the rates and the factors affecting them is available as part of the documentation for a new merchant. I think you'll find our disclosure policy on that front is pretty standard for our industry. It's also probably worth mentioning that the rates charged, as well as the guidelines surrounding them, are Visa/Mastercard guidelines; not constructed or influenced by us, in the least...
Anyway, thanks for the interest in the software!
