Wish I could like it...

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

I really have wanted to like Freeway and have tried it multiple times for some serious work, but I just can't use it. It is not native Mac OS X enough nor does it provide sufficient functionality.

The real crown jewel right now for the all around Dreamweaver killer is Flux. I really think that The Escapees have something great in the works with that and really can change the game with what they're doing.

Wish I could like it... - Jason!

No Mac OS X enough? This comment makes no sense.

I've used this software since version 2, and I can tell you that Freeway 3 was very OS 9 like, but as of version 4, it became a totally different product -- almost TOO MUCH "OS X-like" for me. Nevertheless, I still love Freeway. It's truly a Dreamweaver killer in my book.

Bogus review - ffass

Flux 1.0. As a 1.0 it's a toy compared to Freeway Pro. Stop promoting other software with baseless claims and false statements.

Bogus review - ylon

:) Well, I disagree with the "Mac OS X" likeness. It is not like Mac OS X in the sense that it is very lacking by not being a Cocoa application. I could enumerate a number of points that really set wrong with me due to it's lack of Cocoa implementation, but I really don't need to.

I'm no huge fan of Dreamweaver either as that was why I originally started courting Freeway years ago, however it just never has matured to the point that it should. I really must say that the websites that it has generated are not overly impressive either.

Baseless review? Offering my quick opinion on this does not make it unequivocally baseless or worthless. Flux is certainly not a toy and has, at this point, infinitely more potential that Freeway. The developers need to really start fresh with Freeway. I've provided them input previously regarding the app, but it's their baby and they're welcome to do what they wish and if you like it then you are certainly welcome to use it.
