This application offers 3 tools: Email, Web surfing and Instant Messaging. Each function can be accomplished by astoundingly better free applications (EG: Apple Mail, Safari and Adium).

The ONLY feature that kept AOL relevant these last few years is chat rooms. However, according to AOL, the familiar chat rooms are being systematically phased out in favor of web-based "AIM chat" which is basically the same experience as Userplane or Funpeeps. In other words, the AOL chat experience will soon become a ghost of its former self.

So what's the reason to download and use this software? Is the mail better than Apple Mail? No. Is the browser better than Safari OR Firefox? No. Is the instant Messenger client better than Adium or iChat? No. And last but not least: Can we access chat? No.Not now, and apparently not ever.

Oh well.
