Eudora is still better! - shavital2
Agree! I still run Eudora 6.2.4 (Paid version) as my "final" MUA, where all incoming messages are downloaded and erased from the servers. I use Thunderbird, and occasionally Apple's Mail because of their interaction with cryptographic mail "plugs-in" that are being developed and updated. When using Thunderbird or Mail, they are set to leave messages on the servers.A set of excellent AppleScripts was provided long ago by Mr. Richard Chang. Those AppleScripts, together with Eudora itself, have survived Panther, Tiger and Leopard. Unfortunately Mr. Richard Chang, since he published those AppleScripts, has remained unavailable. Sum-up: non better than Eudora. I am a Mac user.

Eudora is still better! - Jeff Mincey
Eudora is dead. It's pointless to talk about it because development has effectively ceased. It's unfortunate but that's the way it is. Supposedly Qualcomm is using the Thunderbird code base for a "new" Eudora -- but it will be Eudora in name only. The Eudora that some of us have used over the years is dead.So let's stop focusing on it.

Let me add to the Eudora features list:* Icon, UI and layout, circa 1996 for that sweet "retro" feel
* HTML 1.0 partial compliance
* PowerPC-only for improved Rosetta utilization
* Special Eudora-only attachment encoding method
* All data files use the new cutting-edge "Resource Fork" mechanism to make them extra-super smart

I also agree 100%!It seems developers are making apps more complicated, more unnecessary 'bells an whistles' than streamlining for quick and easy use. I think TB is more like Mail than Eudora.
