I bought MailSteward on 10/27/07. The mailsteward.com web site reads: "Upgrades to new versions are free for all registered users of MailSteward."
The FAQ page reads: "The current policy is that all registered users get free upgrades."
Yet they want to charge me $20 for an upgrade. I wrote the author. His response: "What can I say? Maintaining and upgrading the software takes time and money."
Clearly, software publishers need to make a living. But they shouldn't promise something for free and then charge you for it.

I would have no problem paying for an upgrade if it was more than a maintenance release, as this appears to be. Especially not the $20 requested. Probably reasonable for the offer to update to the full version for that price, but I do not need the full version. Guess I will stay at the current release level.Reply to This
