Why no release notes on VT?

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: NO

Once again this developer ignores the convention of posting "What's new In This Version" release notes on Version Tracker.

I do not want to go clicking here and there trying to locate release notes by visiting any developer's site. I want to see what's new right here in VT.

Why are some developers so cavalier in their attitude to potential customers? They don't care.

Why no release notes on VT? - MarkBernstein

We care about customers a lot!

But VersionTracker isn't our responsibility. Like other magazines, journals, and web sites, VersionTracker reports news. We send them information, they pass it to you.

If you'd like them to post more details, tell them! Or get them from Macintouch, or Tidbits, or just pop over to our site.

I gotta ask: Why does it seem like you're in the minority here on VT? Nearly every other product that interests me has a list of new features an/or bug fixes posted here on VT.

What's the problem - won't VT post what you send them? I don't understand why you say it's VT's fault.

I'm not a developer but this excuse sounds like a copout to me.

I really don't want to trip through site after site looking for info that informs me of the new stuff that would convince me to buy the product. No info, no purchase, simple as that.

As a user I can confirm that the updates to Tinderbox are frequent, significant, and well explained. Not so easy. This is a very deep software.

The customer support that really counts (prompt, thoughtful answers as opposed to marketing or posting every detail on third-party sites like VT) is second to none.
