[1] with over 25 games to play, a 60 minute demo is inadequate time to evaluate.
[2] Price of $19.95 is reasonable
[3] Download size of approximately 600+ megabytes requires a fast connection or a lot of patience.
[4] So far I've evaluated chess and it has some annoying qualities. Menus are non-standard and so searching is required to find the option needed. It isn't easy to switch colors. Apparently, it is necessary to just quit the application and restart. Several more what I would call quirky behavior for a Mac application
[5] This might be a good deal but with only enough time to evaluate one or two games I doubt I will buy.
Hoyle Puzzle & Board Games
21 classic and new challenging favorite games
Version: 1.0.1
60 minute demo - not shareware - JPMelrose1
So your complaint is there is SO much to do that you are not sure it will be worth your $20?Seems like a backhanded compliment in a way.
I bought the Hoyle Game discs, all three. They are "jack of all trade, master of none" collections. Lots of fun, definiltely worth the money for casual gaming value. If you want a full out Chess program, buy one. There are some games that are only found in this collection, and the Mac version includes a standalone version of Big Brain Sudoku in the Board games edition. Very cool stuff. Glad it is still being made for mac, and is a universal now.
