What is unclear is: Is this firmware update compatible with Tiger...

Apple limits this firmware update to Mac running Leopard. What if you use an updated keyboard on a Mac running Tiger?
What if you upgrade your keyboard firmware as you use Leopard, then boot from, lets say, DiskWarrior or Techtool Pro DVDs running MacOS X 10.4.8.... Will you be confronted with an unrecognized keyboard???

If there is no caveat using an upgraded keyboard with Tiger, why Apple put this MacOS X 10.5 requirement to apply the firmware upgrade???
