Existing users, 
This app seems like a good idea, except for two things that affected me -
1) I use PathFinder and have its desktop active. Desktoptopia doesn't seem to work in this scenario.
2) Using Desktoptopia's preferences, I tried to turn off some of its themes, one being "film", unfortunately, I got a warning window telling me I couldn't do that, since "film" was a sponsored theme (or something like that). I felt I was being forced to accept one of the themes I didn't want, and that didn't sit well with me.
I've removed it and have gone back to ChangeDesktop, which does work with PathFinder, although it does not provide its own images (it uses OSX).

I've given it a try too. I noticed the same thing about the sponsored theme, but at least (for now) it doesn't have anything in that category.Still, I'm going to keep using it for now. There are a number of really good desktop images in the mix, and it's nice to have something different for a change.
One nice feature that deserves mention... if a desktop loads that you really don't want to see again, you can reject it instead of giving it 1-5 stars in the "My Rating" section for Desktoptopia in the menu bar.
