I've tried iToner a couple times since it first came out. I do admire how Ambrosia works to make this work as it does without any actual "hacking" like jailbreaking requires. But for something I'd have to pay for, I shouldn't have to wait weeks on end for a fix when each iPhone software updates "breaks" iToner. Even now, there is no support for 1.1.4, and that's been out about a month now? A second problem is that syncing the iPhone wipes off the ringtones that iToner puts on there, thus requiring you to re-run iToner to re-add them after each sync. What a nuisance!
The simpler solution is to use an app called MakeiPhoneRingtone. Drop any AAC file on it and it converts it to a ringtone and adds to the iTune Ringtone Library. It's free... it works... and it works PERFECTLY, even with 1.1.4.

Sorry, but my iPhone is running 1.1.4, and iToner works as advertised. Also, I've added, subtracted and added yet again more tones, and not once has iToner "wiped" anything off my iPhone.
My experience with iToner has been that it WORKS, and it works perfectly.

Can someone please confirm if ringtones created with iToner get wiped every time you sync your phone? - (iPhone 3G - v2.0)Sunday, July 27 2008 @ 09:44 PM PDT

Hello,iToner 1.0.6 is and has been compatible with iPhone version 1.1.4. We are aware of some outstanding issues which we work hard to resolve as soon as possible. We encourage anybody having problems to contact Technical Support so we can work on any issues they are experiencing. IToner remains a great little application that makes adding ringtones to your iPhone a simple and hack-free experience.
