Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Can I use this utility to prevent the optical drive from spinning down while I have a DVD paused? If not, that would be a desirable feature for me.

Feature Question - Georg Wacker

DiscRotate doesn't change any Powermanagement settings, so the drive will spindown eventually. I didn't found any way to change the idle timer, maybe direct ATA calls will do the trick. Not sure, if ataidle (FreeBSD program) will work for opticial drives, ataidle is the only hint for me how to do it.
