Isn't it so that utilities like Anacron and PseudoAnacron are not needed anymore in Leopard because in Leopard launchd will run skipped jobs?

Still needed... Indeed ! - Ronald P. Regensburg
A very informative article, thanks.I checked on my PowerBook G4 on which I did a clean install of Leopard in January. The daily script did run weeks ago for the last time and the weekly and monthly scripts had not run at all since the system was installed.

Despite the fact that such is supposed to be the case, nobody's ever told my launchd that running skipped crons is part of its function.Thursday, March 27 2008 @ 10:43 PM PDT

Yes and no.You can find some sources stating that in Tiger the launchd service (the cron substitute) can execute skipped tasks; nonetheless in many circumstances those tasks will not be executed (you can find a
description of this problem at this link: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/maintscripts.html). As a
consequence PseudoAnacron is still useful under Tiger and Leopard.
