After 17 years with Eudora I took the plunge and set up Apple's Mail programme. I have over 100 mailboxes. To my horror I found I could not filter my messages after I read them to the appropriate mailbox. The Rules function would transfer them BUT before I could read them. Did not fancy searching through over a 100 mailboxes to find what is new mail!

Using the "Act-On: a |" function before each rule allows with a press of control-a to sort them correctly AFTER I have read them. Why did Apple not provide this function?

I have just happily sent my PayPal donation off.

Thanks for saving me much time.
