I need to often do just simple clones of drives and I've noticed that SuperDuper is often up to 10x faster than CCC. Maybe the new version fixes this issue?

SuperDuper 2x faster - fracasse
personnally I like CCC it is true that lately with Leopard there has been some problems but it has been very helpful to me for quite a few years and it is free let's trust the developper for the future....Tuesday, March 25 2008 @ 04:12 AM PDT

Must...resist...reality distortion field... Even 2x speed increase is significant...I'm off to try SD. Thanks for the info.Monday, March 24 2008 @ 12:14 PM PDT

This is absurd. The app doesn't move the data, it just instructs the processor to do so. And the processor takes as long as it takes, period.Monday, March 24 2008 @ 12:19 PM PDT

What if the app is doing other things, like deciding which files to copy, setting permissions one by one instead of all at once? What if it's doing a check-sum on each file after copying, then clearing memory and starting a fresh with the next one? There are plenty of things that these apps do besides start a copy. 10x speed difference is incredible, but that doesn't mean they have to be identical in timings.Monday, March 24 2008 @ 02:54 PM PDT

SuperDuper is faster, but not 10x faster. More like 2x.Reply to This
