great scanner shame about the neglected support for the software. Since upgrading to Intel Mac this piece of software is of no use. Crashes in CS 2 and crashes as stand alone. I sit here with two options for out with a lot of cash for a 3rd party ! or buy a new scanner (I have a LS8000ED and my next will NOT be Nikon) arghhhh. I remember having to wait a lonnnnnggg time for Nikon to make a OSX compatible version and now...they can not follow. Also their Amiga look Nikon View is laughable.

Not So Awful - sirbroiler

I had a second user account on my PowerMac G5 Intel - nothing really has been loaded onto my system with this account. I started Nikon Scan through this account, and surprise! - it works fine. No problems at all.

So clearly - something else I have installed through my main user account is forking it up. I'm a video producer, use AVIDXpress Pro - and that has caused a lot of issues. But did an uninstall to test, and that wasn't the problem.

Not sure exactly what the culprit is - but glad to know I can use the software still - because it's ability to remove dust and scratches from old slides is unbeatable.
