Unsanity rubbish

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

These apps directly add/change the system/frameworks/security framework and have full root privs.

So far they have caused me nothing but full on trouble with finder crashes since installed and several kernal panics since installed. I had neither prior to their install.

Now think about this for a while.

If some idiot writes a nasty app which uses the ape module which has full root privs. If an app like this was installed it could pretty much do what it was designed for.

I personally see these as hacking the system security directly and opening security holes which apple closed.

I would like to see apple totally block the use of these fully once and for all.

I am very sorry to hear that installing this software may have caused you crashes. If that is the real cause of your difficulties, simply uninstalling it should restore things to their former state.

Your assertion that this product "opens security holes" is unsubstantiated. Please to inform us which holes and how to exploit them? And cite an example or two in which a computer was exploited because it had APE installed? I troubleshoot Macs for a living for 19 years now, and have never seen or heard of such a thing.

And why should Apple block their use? I mean, you are not forced to use it, and the license agreement together with common sense make quite clear that there is a risk. You assented to take that risk when you installed, all the more so since this is BETA software. Uninstalling is a trivial task. Why advocate for preventing those of us who wish to do so, from using this? Is it any of your business if I use it and like it and have fine results with it, as I have for years?

I'm glad some have had good results on this "enhancer" - Every time I installed it to use clear dock, window shade, whatever from OSX.2 on up to X.5, I started experiencing kernel panics - every time I uninstalled APE, the panics "mysteriously" vanished. To you that do use the haxie, OSX does NOT crash - ever!!! I don't think you are getting the same results as those who are not using APE.
