Error: Unable to open "DC3 UserKey" file. Error -999 (unknown function)

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: martimer Saturday, March 01 2008 @ 03:22 PM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I will buy it when it comes out, but while waiting (some more) thought I would try the demo. I get the error in the subject line and am unable to open the game. The scarier part is that the file is created when I open the game!

Please help.

Were you able to solve this problem? I keep receiving the same error message...

Thanks!

Error: Unable to open "DC3 UserKey" file. Error -999 (unknown function) - Paul_Christensen

also have the same problem with the demo - it doesn't work on 3 different systems. I emailed SHFF and they claimed that there were "some" people having this problem and they would correct it, but no fix yet in the demo.

I was getting a DC3 Prefs file issue - the workaround was to delete the file , it may be a permissions issue actually, come to think of it, because it can create the file, but not reopen it later ??
