I LOVE the speed of this browser. It's the fastest thing I've used yet. But... just like safari, the longer you keep it open, and the more browsing you do, the more ram you'll see this browser gobbling up. If you're a gmail user, you'll see more and more ram get chewed up each time you navigate away from your gmail and back to it. I've posted my issue with this on the developer's forum, and was told that it must be something I'm doing wrong (not using an updated version of flash, or input managers that should be deleted). I tried doing a few things that the developer had suggested, to no avail. I'm running 10.4.11, which should be compatible as far as I can see. It must have to do with the webkit engine. I've been a user of firefox, and I've done side by side, page for page browsing comparisons, visiting all sorts of diffrerent pages, with and without flash content. After about 15 mins, Demeter was using about 200mb of RAM, firefox, only about 80. Sure, if your someone who visits a few websites and quits your browser, you'll be fine. But if you like to keep your browser open all day, and have something like gmail on your screen constantly, your'll need to keep quitting and re-starting your browser if you want to keep memory usage down. Thats not how a browser should work. If Demeter can get this solved, it's the best, fastest browser out there, period. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. Once, again, this IS the fastest browser I've used. The memory issue is the only thing holding it back.

Serious memory hog - FalstaffA

Mr. Capone, are you experiencing this RAM issue on a PPC, or an Intel Mac? In my case, I've noticed that with usage being similar on two similarly configured Macs, one a PPC and the other an Intel, Demeter's memory usage is proportionally greater on the PPC Mac, nevertheless, Demeter does not approach a "RAM hog" status on any of my four Macs. It may well be that your opinion about WebKit being a potential culprit might be correct, as I usually experience issues with any WebKit based browsers much more rapidly than with Gecko based ones.
