Just tried to defrag with Drive Genius 2.0.1 under 10.5.2. Hung at 0.6% progress, wouldn't cancel, so I went to quit and then got a cancel message that did cancel, then I found that the drive had been damaged. Disk Utility could not see it. Re-booted and then I was able to repair it with Disk Utility - some problem with volume header info. Luckily I had taken a bootable clone before trying to defrag, but this is very poor behaviour for a disk utility.
I was trying to defrag my main drive from my bootable clone.
