Don't get me wrong - the update is a big step forward, and I love the fact that it's free for those of us who invested early.
But unfortunately, it doesn't change the existing behavior for Videos. If you create a Video Playlist, you can only play one video at a time from the list. If you create a playlist that includes both music and videos, then AppleTV will skip over the Video content. Geez - this is something we can do quite easily in iTunes and an iPod. And lots of people have been asking for this to be fixed. Sigh...

Nice update, but still can't use Video playlists - landaret
I have quite a movie library on iTunes (more than 4500 movies - including series - h264 encoded). Lack of playlists for movies proved a real pain in the ass (I suppose Mr Jobs assumes that we only have movies purchased on iTunes store ...? Personnally, I stupidly buy DVDs).But there is a simple workaround : cmnd-I the first movie in iTunes "Movie library", go to "Vidéo", change the type from 'movie" to "TV show" (something like that, its in a pull-down menu), choose your own category (I dont remember exactly if its named "category", buts its the 1st field under the pull-down menu, it qualifies the TV show name in fact), and then "next" button, and you go on.
Your "categories" ou "TV show names" will become playlists on the ATV, not under "Movie" menu, but "TV shows" menu. You have your playlists.
