Slow. Buggy. Not even close to being cross-platform.
First application (Excel 2008) I've ever used where Hide doesn't (menu, key press, whatever).
Excel can take minutes to open if other disk access is going on.
Even Excel 2004 files don't always successfully move to 2008 without issues (let's not even talk about Windows versions)
PowerPoint is simply unstable.
If you want good compatibility with Windows Office you really have only two options right now: Windows 2003 or 2007 running in a virtual XP window (or Bootcamp) or NeoOffice.
Microsoft Office 2004
Entourage, PowerPoint, Excel, Word suite.

Because they're just as ****, but in different ways - send_me_no_crap
NeoOffice in particular is paralysingly slow, taking upwards of a minute merely to launch. The interface is ugly, the crashes frequent. I've run it on both G4 and G5 systems, perhaps it is fine on Intel Macs.I'm happy for you, that your experience clearly differs so widely from mine. But I found NeoOffice so bad that I actually went out and bought MS Office 2004. It pains me to report that I find it the better option.

Why don't you guys/gals switch to NeoOffice/OpenOffice.org? - Edwin-schemer
If there are so may complaints about MS Office, why not just switch to NeoOffice or OpenOffice.org, which works perfectly?Reply to This
