Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

I downloaded this widget off of Apple's site because it was one of the "top 100" widgets... and it seemed pretty cool at first. I mean, who wouldn't want to hear their VMs via the Dashboard whenever you want?

Well... it's not that simple.

Yes. You do get to hear your VMs via the Dashboard, but the rub is you give up the option to hear them on your phone. You know, like you normally do? I assumed it was BOTH on your phone and the DB.. but no. Oh no. And there's no option to change it. Or fix it.

So I started getting complaints... "Hey... what's UP with your voice mail!?". "...are you still ALIVE??!" Etc. And then I was even missing messages...!!! So then, I finally decided to cancel the service. Which is VERY HARD TO DO.

But even after I got an email response giving me the "secret cancelation 800#" I couldn't cancel!

And then, not only did my VMs NOT go to my Dashboard via Call Wave, my VMs didn't go to my PHONE either!

So... right now, I am getting ZERO voice mails. Seriously. Zero. AAAGGGHAGHAGGHAGHGAAH!

Avoid this program with all your might.

Seriously.

Run.

Far.

Boo.

STAY AWAY - fadfife

My sentiments entirely. Like you I was excited about this little widget when it first arrived, I was able to send messages to my friends and relatives in the USA. I liked it so much that I purchased credits for it. Then the trouble started. Too many to mention but I'll just mention some briefly. The widget kept telling me I did not have enough credit to send the messages - even though there was plenty showing as available. Contacting the owners produced a response in the form of an email advising me of all the things a child would know how to do and suggesting things that may have caused the problem if I was a complete idiot. After much communication (mostly from me) they eventually agreed to give me my money back, which they did and also told me that there was a new version which allowed sms messages to USA free. This seemed great and has been fine, apart from the annoying feature of only allowing 80 characters in the message. This meant that my friends had to pay more for my sms messages, since the US folk have to pay for incoming calls.

Now I have found that it will not allow me access at all with the message 'authentication error' even though I am using the correct phone number and pass code. If i try to register for a new account I get the message, 'Sorry this service is not available in your area'

It is nice when a program is made available and is useful, but when it gives intermittent faults like I have mentioned above, it becomes impractical and frustrating - and sometimes even gets you into trouble with contacts who think you are ignoring them.

C'mon guys buck up your ideas and give us something to praise you for.
