To remove burn-ins you do not need any tool. Just make a plain white image in Photoshop keep it full screen twice as long as the burned-in image stayed

That's true, but if a Mac user doesn't have the time or tools to research and set up something like that, LCD Scrub is just the thing.Note also that LCD Scrub has a number of moving-pattern modes that (in my experience) work better on some displays. Try that with Photoshop. :)
