Just find and us an Open Source tool called: Trim-app
easy to use:
put .exe file in usr/bin
then just type:

$trim-app -a i386 leaves ALL Intel binary parts untouched
$trim-app -a PPC leaves ALL the PPC binary parts untouched

works like a charm-when ML stumbled-
Cleaning binaries certain apps would stop working-
with a message in the console:
"unable to find x/x/x/x1 DID find x/x/x/x1 Mach-O but wrong architecture"
Also ML can and does leave behind dozens of lproj files.
