I don't mean the functionality in general -- just the way how sloppy this has been stitched together...!!

Why the *beep* does it have to place two apps in my applications folder...?! I mean "Logitech Harmony Remote Software" and "remotecore" -- ever heard of bundling the contents of a Mac OS X application...?! That's what an .app is...!!

And if this wasn't enough, then it places two folders in the upper level of my Home directory...!?! Yeah, I mean "browser - logitech" and "logitech" -- again, could that stuff not be collected in one single folder and that folder then placed into Preferences or Application support or whatever...?!?

But no, they just don't care, they just spread that crap all over your system...thanks, Logitech...!

I tested on a 10.5.1 mac, and a 10.4.11 mac, in both cases it just installed a single .app program, no other folders at the root level, and no 2nd program in the applications folder.

Maybe check to see where it is installing if it is possible to customize (I did not check if this is possible yet)

Sorry, but this still sucks...! - theguy

I just deleted those annoying apps and folders and installed 7.4.1 from scratch, and remoteapp as well as the 2 folders are still created. Along with some of the persistent bugs (data entry hangs sometimes, etc) this is especially sloppy software.

It's a shame, because the remotes rock.

Ditto...Sorry, but this still sucks...! - SPI...master...

Yup... I've installed it on three different Macs and have experienced the root folder phenomenon each time. Logitech really needs to fix their installer app... there is NO excuse for this sloppy work.

Additionally, the approach they take to "program" their remote is a resource HOG. Why is the configuration routine run over the web. What's wrong with having a REAL application that sends/receives updates to Logitech's server only as needed, with everything else run locally? VERY cheap interface developement....
