You really must be joking.

Because a lot of people use PowerPoint doesn't make it good. A lot of people eat at MacDonalds, but that doesn't make it gourmet food.

It's sad indeed.

It's sad that someone wants PP compatibility, when not even PowerPoint is compatible with PowerPoint (try opening a presentation made on another computer with non-usual fonts, or using different versions).

It's sad that someone is asking for PP compatibility, when Microsoft isn't even able to publish a decent description of their document format (no, it isn't their right to keep it private, check USA and EU courts decisions).

It's sad that someone is blaming any other software maker than Microsoft for this situation.

And it's utterly sad that someone can still think that PP is the king of presentation software. It's the king of bloatware presentation SW. And mind that I'm using it, and when it's up to "nice" fonts, math, videos, X-compatibility between versions... I switch to something else.
