That would be sad. And it would explain their preoccupation with *this* program an "Fission."

I'm going to at least *try* MP3 Trimmer. But, Audacity is FREE. Fission is NOT.

You need to understand that MP3 Trimmer (and Fission) allows you to split MP3's without re-encoding them. This preserves the original encoding, quality, and file size perfectly.

Audacity does not have this functionality. When splitting audio with Audacity, you will either have to leave it in a lossless format (AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, etc.) to retain the same quality but with much larger file sizes, or you will have to re-encode the audio back to MP3 again to get the small file size of the original but at the cost of quality due to the lossy re-encode.
