Help! After using - and losing - this dog since 1996 or so, I'm again being dragged, kicking and screaming, back into Stuffit because of Unarchiver's inability to open SITX files - which my clients are still sending (doesn't anyone use the contextual menus? Control-click any Mac file, guys - the OS will ZIP it for ya!)
As usual, Stuffit's installers start dumping crap all over my Macs - in prefs, menubars, startup items, contextual menus, etc etc. Wanna know how much Smith-Micro cares about Mac users? Log on to the Stuffit website and enter the word "Leopard" in their site search bar - results: nada - it doesn't come up.
[Correction - it is mentioned on Smith-Micro's FAXstf software page].

Did you - by chance - notice that this is the Stuffit Expander site? You are probably talking about Stuffit Standard or Deluxe, which has contextual menu items and things like that, and so of course has to write some files in your system. Why exactly did you choose it if you do not want this functionality? Why dont you - like me - choose Stuffit Expander which is the product this page talks about. You should be happy with it, because it does none of the things you complained about.
