Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

This version of iCab is quite fast, and it meets my needs just fine with the exception of one big issue.
The log-in saving feature just doesn't work. The developer uses a rather strange method, which he feels offers better security than the other browsers. I emailed the developer and he replied with instructions on how to save log-in info, but I spent a good amount of time trying to make it work and just couldn't.
A number of other iCab users that I've communicated with also have the same problem.
Unless the developer makes log-in info user friendly as it is with virtually every other browser out there, iCab just won't be my regular browser.
I hope then developer takes heed; I really like iCab a lot but this issue is a major stumbling block.

I would have to agree with your comments here. iCab is an extremely good browser nowadays but I can't get it to remember passwords and these days we need so many of them that I am foced to stick with Safari or Camino. I do hope that the author can address thisproblem somehow.

I absolutely agree. While I found the use of "*" in place of some of the site info successful on a few sites, others use a different method of security where that isn't an option. I appreciate what the developer of this fine browser is attempting, but I would hope he'd leave the security worries to us (as if we don't have enough!) and adapt a less cumbersome solution, i.e., that used by virtually every other browser in the game.

This browser is fine as it is; if the reviewers here require a "preference" just to have the browser work with the keychain, then use another browser. Security depends on the user, and for a browser to not remember a password is not a shortcomimg, but something which is your business not that of the keychain; Opera uses Wand, while Safari and Camino use the keychain. I am writing this from iCab
To each is own but I am extremely pleased with iCab, and have gladly paid the developer.

I paid too, but I would like integration with Keychain, or even better: 1Password.
I appreciate the reasoning by the developer, but why not making it a preference-option?
