Like other reviewers have mentioned, the European prices are much higher than the US prices on the Elgato store. However there is nothing on their site to stop anyone from buying from the North American store, no matter where in the world you live, and pay only the low Dollar price. The software is exactly the same.

Always buy at the North American Store - Kevin Browne

Nothing except your location. Like any online store, Elgato checks your ISP location to ensure you are using the store settings designated for your country. It has to do with a little thing called taxation (in many European countries a national sales tax is included in the retail price). While you could use a US proxy I suppose to mask the ISP location check, you would then have to lie about your country of origin when completing the checkout. All starts to seem a little sleazy... to me at least.
