Existing users, 
I have not yet installed this latest version as I noted some of the other comments saying that this is a paid upgrade, NOT an update. Some of the links on their site now work, but the info is sketchy at best. There is no information on purchasing the product and no cost on any upgrades from version 3. I think Insider has prematurely released this version before they had their S%&t together. You can't even buy it from their own online store.
I read through the instructions and their is no information on how to migrate your existing library over to the new version. I have over 4,000 fonts installed on my computer, there is no way I am going to start from scratch again!
My past experience with Insider has not been great. The auto-activation plug-in for Adobe CS3 software was over a year late, from their own press release. When I first changed over from Suitcase to FontAgent I was very pleased with their level of service, but I have seen it completely deteriorate over the years. I truly hope they can pick up the pieces and get back in the game, I really don't want to regret my defection from Extensis.

The site has usually been slow on updates and this year slow on responding to support querries. It is true that the site itself is not the greatest piece of work - they provide little info on version changes or even on what is the current version of the program.But I hope the program is OK - it seems so for now. It installed over ma previous version without any problems and runs fine for now. Next week I'm getting a new system with leopard installed and I hope it works without any problems.
The upgrade price you have to go to the "store" secrtion of the site then you will see on the left a bod where you can login. After that you will be presented with your old FAP license key and you will have to select/confirm it. After that you will get an upgrade price and option to buy.
Yes, the site is not very inviting, it is rubbish. But the program seems fine. I hope that customer support will be better that the last 6 months. It was ok before.

The upgrade is seamless. Just run the installer and then launch FontAgent Pro 4 and it will take your settings and fonts from the previous version. 4000+ fonts here, no major problems so far. Their website has been updated now to state that upgrade purchases will be available later this week for $49.95. FYI: the CS3 plugins were not "over a year late" - their press release said "later this Spring" but they were finally delivered late fall.Reply to This
