I love my EyeTV. The current software works fine for me, and I see no "need" to upgrade.

I would probably not even flinch at a $19.95 upgrade price, but twice that is enough to make me hesitate and say "no thanks".

Some day I may upgrade my computer, but before that happens, I'm not willing to shell out $40 bucks for software I don't need.

I'm disappointed that I can't upgrade for some of the features that might be cool to have, but that's the way it goes I guess.

"Customer support" is important to some companies. Obviously, it's not important enough to Elgato to give their loyal customers better deal.

Disappointed ... Sure - Mike Evangelist

Elgato definitely appreciates our existing customers. That's why the upgrade is 50% off the full price.
